Community Access
Pay What You Can, subsidised and funded support
Every full-price session contributes to a free or subsidised session for a child who otherwise couldn’t access therapy.
We believe that specialist support should not be out of reach, simply because a family cannot afford the full standard cost.
Sensoryflex is developing a range of Pay What You Can, subsidised and funded opportunities
for children and families experiencing financial barriers.
How the Sensoryflex model works
Sensoryflex is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company.
Income from our full-price occupational therapy services helps cover the cost of running the therapy centre, maintaining specialist equipment and delivering our clinical services.
Any surplus income is reinvested into Sensoryflex and its community work.
As our income, grants and community funding allow, we use these resources to provide more affordable support for families who may not otherwise be able to access it.
Every full-price booking therefore helps Sensoryflex become more sustainable and increases our ability to offer Pay What You Can, subsidised and funded sessions.
Community Access opportunities may include:
- Pay What You Can sensory sessions
- Subsidised individual or small-group sessions
- Fully funded places supported by grants or donations
- Low-cost sensory groups and community programmes
- Parent consultation and practical guidance
- Early support for families who are unsure where to begin
The type and number of places available will depend on funding, clinical capacity and the needs of the families currently seeking support.
Who can join the Community Access list?
The Community Access list is for families who believe their child may benefit from sensory or occupational therapy support but who would find the full standard cost difficult to afford.
You do not need to know exactly what type of support your child requires before joining.
Families can tell us what contribution, if any, they may be able to make.
This helps us match available opportunities with the needs and circumstances of each family.
Our commitment
We aim to:
Treat every family with dignity and respect
Be open about what support is currently available
Reinvest all surplus income into Sensoryflex
Increase funded and subsidised opportunities as resources allow
Develop a sustainable service that can support families over the long term
Never pressure families to pay more than they can realistically afford
